I am sorry that Hillory was not able to finish her life and enjoy being a young women. I have a daughter who 18 years old. She has just graduated from High School "Cum Laude", and was a very good little girl. Now she wants to experience life, I talk to her every day about the dangers of young men and how even a close friend will take adavantage of her. However, she thinks she is invesible. I had her look at the web site, hoping it will make her think twice about taking any drinks from any friend or stranger. God Bless

My brother just recently died from this horrible drug and I am hoping to reach other people who have been through this in hopes of ending this unbelievable drug. My brother was 24 and like many others always lookes for that way to 'feel good'. He was found dead on January 22, 2002. I have been in contact with a great person named Trinka who is retired from the Los Angeles police department in the narcotics division. She has hopes on starting a campain in this area. I just want your family to know that you are no the only people who have ahd to face this. I hope your pain has lessened and that you have found peace! God bless you all:) Stacey

Attention: Raul & Ruben Farias It's been a very long time since we've seen each other, and I'm overwhelming sorry for the loss of Hillory. I was researching GHB for a lesson I was preparing for my Health class (7th grade,Hall County Georgia), when I came across your site. Why am I NOT surprised to hear what an outstanding student Hillory was, or what a special young lady she was becoming...After all, look at her heritage. I know her Uncles...Too often in life, we leave things unsaid, until it's too late. Let me take this opportunity to say what a privelage it always was to say I knew both of you. As they did in High School, our lives have led us down different paths, but my respect for you both never waivered. Now more than ever, I'm proud to say I know you. Taking a situation of such tragedy and turning it into something to help others is ... heroic. Somewhere in Heaven, Hillory is proud of you all... and filled by Gods'grace and your love, she's smiling. As you have done, and continue to do, I will not let your loss be in vain. In weeks (and maybe even years) to come I'll ask my students to come to your website... No doubt, Hillory's life will affect the live's of my students, and my own children. My prayers will be with you. Once again, I'm sorry for your loss, but extremely grateful for your courage. Joe Haulbrook

I am the youth officer for the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office in Barnstable, Massachusetts. During the last 10-12 months I have been actively educating youth and parents on the dangers of designer drugs. I had taped a special off tv several months ago in which Hillory was one of the individuals covered. I applaud you and your family for everything you are doing to pass the message along re: how dangerous and deadly these drugs are. My philosophy is the more people we can touch, educate and inform the less we will have to read, see and have impact lives across the nation. Next week I am speaking at a local High School to address over 800 students and Hillory's story is one that I cover. Please keep the faith and continue your endeavors. Sincerely, Deputy Robert DiCarlo

Hello. I am sorry for your loss, this world is full of clueless, shallow people. I have learned this the hard way and that I must watch my back around everyone. I was drugged with GHB three months ago. Luckily I knew something was wrong and I immediately called my boyfriend to come get me right away. I spent the next 48 hours afterwards trying to figure out why I felt the way I did. Apparently someone slipped GHB into my drink when I was in the bathroom. The sad part is I was out with "friends" at the time. I knew I was drugged because a carring soul came forward to tell me. Thankfully the dosage was not enough to kill me but I got to experience the after effects of a non- controlled substance. My advice to all is never let your drink out of your sight and if you do find out you have been drugged, call the police immediately!

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your daughter with me. I have two teenage children that have been experimenting with Meth another deadly drug. I am a loss as to what to say or do anymore and have been turning to other parents for help. I came upon your life story and your loss. I am deaply sorry for your loss. I could never imagine what you feel. I did want to tell you that I am also a paramedic and worked in Chicago for 8 years, we picked up a boy that was 15 and someone had slipped GHB into his soda,at the time we didn't know what it was, there is no drug out there to reverse the effects of it, he stayed in his coma for about 12 hours, Thankfully he awoke and when I went back to see him he was crying, he thought the people that were with him that night were his friends. They obviously weren't. After that night I educated myself on the drug and what we can do on the street setting medically what we could do, unfortunatley there is not much we can do. I commend you for your making the public aware of this horrible drug facing our youth, and I am sorry that it had to come from such a terrible loss. I will keep your family in our daily prayers. God Bless you and the work that you do. Mary

I was looking up GHB being clueless as to what it is, and came upon the site which had a link to Hillory's page. I am so sorry that you lost your daughter. IT should not have happened! I feel for your loss, almost being in your place, but for the grace of God and angels looking over my daughter WHEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO HER! A teen club, a soda, and some one INTENTIONALLY putting this drug in her soda while she left it unattended!!! Seeing her in the ER. The coma, the respirator, the Over dose medication not working, pumping her stomach, filling it with charcoal, and finally, a few hours later, her finally coming back to life little by little, but still being on the respirator over night. IF I had a video of this event, I wonder if it could smarten these kids up, so they WOULD not do this! I think someone intentionally wanted her to Over dose! How could kids be SO stupid? Again, I am so sorry for your loss, and I am really happy to know that you are actively educating parents about this totally tragic event that happened to your family.

Hello! I was answering a email I received only to see your website attached. I am so sorry for your loss. Your doing a great job with this site, she would be very proud. I was once drugged actually twice. Once I was in my twenties and once was last year. Last year was the rohipnal. I can guarantee I spelt that wrong. Anyway, here at a club in Conroe. He was a punk-ass loser from Conroe. Hes actually well known for it. But being new to Conroe and the whole dating thing again I let my guard down. I almost lost my life, my car, my friends, all my money, credit cards and jewelry. Teenagers are so niave these days and too trusting. I see it in my daughters. But the best way to get these losers is thru the media. Sad but true. Your doing a great job. I thank god everyday for my life. I wonder what he has in store for me everyday. God Bless your family as he has blessed me.

I first off want to say that i am so sorry you had to lose hillary so soon. I was watching Ricky Lake i believe either yesterday or the day before and seen the stories of people who had died from GHB. It was honestly the first time i had really heard much about the drug, i just knew it was considered a date rape drug, although i was unaware of any of the effects it could have on a persons body. I am turning 17 on september 24th, which makes me so sad to know hillary was takin so soon. I have so many goals that i want to see come true, and i i have so many people in this world i love and hope to never leave. I am so much like hillary, ive never been to prom or had a first date, and i know how much those things must of meant to her because they mean so much to me. I am truely sorry about your loss, and i hope for healing in your family... sincerly, tiffany teneil, 17

I am very sorry about Hillary. She seems to be a young lady that would have have a very bright future. Thank you for sharing her story with us. I have to tell you I was exposed to GHB last year. Some friends of mine took me out for my birthday. We were at a club... having a good time. First let me tell you I am very careful with my drink when I am in a public place . When I go out I NEVER sit my drink down.... Not sure how the GHB was put in my drink... But it was. I only had one drink and did not finish that one. It was getting late and we were getting ready to go. I developed a sudden massive headache, and felt like I was going to pass out. I became very sick. GHB was the first thing that I thought of. I work in the medical field and was familiar with the symptoms. I knew that it wasn't alcohol. I did not have that much to drink. I had my friends take me to the hosiptal. I became very ill. The symptoms lasted for 2 days but I was very lucky..... I preach to my daughter about this all the time. The best advice I can give her is 1.) Always have a lid on your drink 2.) and never sit your drink down. That way no one can pour anything into your drink. I am very glad that this drug in now a controlled substance. I realize it will not prevent it from being on the street but at least it is illegal now. I am sorry for your loss and God bless your family...... Myrtha

My heart goes out to you,the loss of a daughter is something no one should have to go through. But you have turned your loss into a gain for others, through this web site. I hope that people relize that GHB is not something to be taken lightly, here in Colorado where I live the drug has become very popular amongst the young adults at clubs and bars, I have seen vaey disturbing things as a result of this drug, and the use continues to rise. I hope that it doesn't take a tragdy, like what happend to your beloved daughter for people to grow up and relize that GHB can cause harm, it can even kill... I thank you for this site, and my prayers are with you and your family...

My friend Sarah died 2 years ago. She started having seizures and had to be hospitalized. After a week her body began to break down, and she died. They couldn't find anything wrong with her. There were no drugs in her system. To this day, they still do not know the reason for her death. GHB is undected and I believe that is what she died from.

We now know what we didn't then, however, this will never ever bring your precious angel back. However, we will all possibly be with her in our other world, and most of all your strength is important so Hillory's spirit will live on through your efforts in this battle to save our young ones. The daughter of a friend of mine was poisoned with GHB at a party. She was 16 at the time. Her mother and I are trying to change the law in Arizona. GHB and other rape drugs like it are illegal in Arizona but we have tried to stiffen the sentences for those convicted of using the drug on minors, such as your daughter. The bill, SB 1284, has passed the Arizona State Senate and is almost through the Arizona State House. We could use your advice and prayers in getting it through. Please email me back.

I am a 9th grade Health & Physical Education teacher in Millville, NJ. I first heard of date rape drugs back in 1996 from the schools Substance Awareness Counselor. It is very scary to know how many people have been affected by the use of such a horrible substance. Not to mention, how many people have suffered or died unnessarily because of someone else's "thrill". Last year we had a couple of officers from our local police department along with a representative from the Victim/Witness Unit at the county come in and speak to the 9th grade health classes about the dangers of RHB. The students showed a strong interest and concern about the dangers of the drugs mentioned. It is nice to see how many students are interested in drug education for positive reasons and not just so they can find out how they can "feel good" or "be cool" by experimenting with such dangerous substances. As an educator, I can only hope that the more people speak out on the dangers of such drugs, the less interested children of today will be in experimentation w/ these substances and join us in fighting against it! I feel deeply saddened for those who have lost their lives and for those they have left behind. Unfortunately, it takes instances like these to make people wake-up and open their eyes to the dangers of drugs. Thank you for sharing your story with so many and for fighting so hard so that there are is now a Date-Rape Prevention Drug Act.

I want you to know how sorry I am to hear of your loss. Losing a child is by far the most horrific tragedy any one human being can face. I know this because I lost my son to GHB on February 25, 2000 and every day go through the hell I know you are faced with. There's nothing anyone can do or say that will make things better. Time and memories are the only cures to the insanity we face each day. The first year is almost gone. They (experts) tell me the second year is the hardest. Quite honestly I don't know how thats possible. My thoughts are with you. Sam

It is very tragic when someone so young and full of life is taken away because of stupidity!!! People need to wake up and realize what they are doing to not only to the person, but their family and friends!! I just hope that one day, this will all be over, and when I have kids, that I won't have to worry about something like this!! But the only way to make it stop is to do something about it!! We need to educate people on what they are doing to people!!! I just pray that it will all end one day!! But until that day comes we have to fight it!!! Keep the faith!! tasha

I am deeply sorrowed for your loss...I see GHB use on almost a daily basis! I do understand your concerns on making the public aware of the risk's involved in using this product. I do have to say that I dont totally agree w/ the term "date-rape" drug. When the product was being used by more mature individuals there was never a problem w/ rape, overdose or any of the horrible things that are happening now! There have been to many people that have the wrong intensions for the product! Please dont think that I dont care, or that I'm siding with the idiots that have caused the problems! I do care that is why I want people to understand that there is a positive use for GHB, it's not, nor was it ever intended to be a party drug, rape drug or anyhting else other than a sleep aide(in small doses) prescribed by doctors!! Once again please understand that I do feel for your loss & hope that Idiots will stop doing the stupid things they're doing before it causes more lives to be lost!

There can never be enough words to make up for the pain which you have suffered. Until a few months ago I was unaware of what GHB is or can do to a person. I was very surprised that this drug is widely used. I'm a college student doing a report on GHB. I hope to educate my peers on this matter and hope that maybe it could possibly change someones life.
